Getting to Georgetown:

By Air:

Georgetown University is located near two major airports, Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Reagan National Airport (DCA). Dulles is located approximately 24 miles (32 minutes) from Georgetown University and Reagan is located approximately 5.6 miles (17 minutes) away. Car rental services are available at both airports.

By Car Service and Taxi:

Uber, Lyft, and traditional taxis all operate within the Georgetown area.

By Public Transportation:

Georgetown University is centrally located to two metro stops on the blue, orange, and silver lines: Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom – GWU. Both stops are approximately a 20 minute walk from the campus. Georgetown does offer a free shuttle service from the Rosslyn metro to the campus.

There are several MetroBus routes that come to the campus or close to it. The G2 Bus will drop you off right outside of the main gate at 37th & O streets NW. The D6 Bus will bring you by the campus medical center on Reservoir Rd. The D2 Bus will bring you to Reservoir Rd & 35th St NW. The 38B Bus stops in Georgetown at M Street & 34th Street NW, and connects with Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom. Lastly, 30s series buses (30N, 30S31, 33) stop along Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown at P Street and N Street NW, and connects with Foggy Bottom.

Georgetown has a free shuttle service, Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) that provides free rides to campus from various points in the DC metro area including Wisconsin Avenue, Dupont Circle, Arlington, and Rosslyn. For a listing of times and locations of pickup, please see here.
