AIS welcomes linguist Dr. Ahmad Alqassas

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies is pleased to announce that Dr. Ahmad Alqassas will join the faculty starting in Fall 2017.

Dr. Alqassas holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature and an M.A. in English Language and Linguistics from Yarmouk University, Jordan. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics from Indiana University – Bloomington.

His research interests include Arabic morpho-syntax, code-switching and diglossia, as well as Arabic as a foreign/second language and as a heritage language.
