OPI and Proficiency Exams

Fall 2020

OPI (for Arabic Majors) and Proficiency Exams (for graduating students) will be administered online via Zoom for Fall 2020. We expect all students to adhere to the Honor Code. All exams will be recorded, as is done with the in person exam. A waiting room will be enabled to ensure that students do not enter during another student’s examination. The article will be shared with the student via a share screen from the examiner. Students will be required to keep both their video and audio on and are not permitted to use any online translation system including but not limited to: google and WordReference.

All exams are conducted in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) to all students including native speakers of Arabic (NO EXCEPTION). Note that these exams are recorded.
